Responsibility for our employees & the Fulda region

Health & Safety

The health and safety of our employees is always our first priority.

We take seriously our commitment to modern office workstations, carefully-secured production equipment, and avoidance of materials and chemicals that can be dangerous to people or harmful to the environment. In addition to our trained medical emergency staff we offer all employees free classes in first aid.

Regional events and in-house teams also motivate us to participate in sports activities such as football, bicycling and jogging. In 2019, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce awarded us the title "healthy working in Fulda".

Social responsibility

Donation for the Tour of Hope

25 years of support for the "Tour der Hoffnung"

Another special event is the Tour of Hope, its proceeds going to help children suffering from cancer or leukemia, in which our Managing Director and his family have participated for over 25 years.

We support regional organizations such as Perspektiva, Caritas and our local correctional facility.

Our focus is on giving people with limitations the opportunity to take on responsibility and to make a meaningful contribution, as well as to earn their own income. We also support sports and culture by sponsoring sports clubs and the Fulda Musical Summer event.

Sustainable Growth

The careful management of energy consumption and the environment are integral parts of our company policy. We continuously optimize our production processes with a view toward increasing efficiency and reducing energy usage. Of course we pay strict attention to protecting ground water, avoiding emissions and noise. We have always put a high value on sustainable and recyclable construction practices, ecologically irreproachable building materials, high energy efficiency and good noise insulation while planning and building all of our buildings.

Much of the packaging we use is used multiple times. In cases where re-usable packaging is not possible we make sure that the materials are conducive to recycling and harmless to the environment. The heat generated in our brazing furnace is used in our heating system.

In an effort to adopt renewable energy sources, we are currently planning to install solar panels on buildings Nord I and Nord II to generate some of our own electricity. Our energy and environment management programs are certified in accordance with ISO 50001 and ISO 14001.

Environmental protection

When designing products and processes, attention must be paid to the best possible environmental compatibility. Materials or means of production that are hazardous to the environment are to be avoided as far as possible. In the production of vehicle parts, care must be taken to ensure that neither processes nor products pose any risks to the production site, employees or users of our products.

In addition to the immediate environmental risks such as groundwater protection, exhaust air, noise and greenhouse gas emissions, energy-efficient production is now also part of Wagner's environmental and energy policy. Energy has become an important parameter and cost factor for our company. The implementation and regular review as well as improvement of all conceivable energy saving measures is an important part of our environmental and energy policy and contributes to the sustainable development of the company.

Responsible use of resources affects everyone, both internally and externally. We already contribute to the conservation of general resources by means of a self-used photovoltaic system and a waste management system whose goal is the continuous reduction of waste and compliance with the separation rate.

The handling of hazardous substances must be reduced to a minimum. Hazardous substance management observes the rules and regulations for handling hazardous substances, implements them in practical operations and ensures that all relevant information is documented in order to avert health hazards for the workforce.

The goal of environmental management is consistent compliance with existing standards and legal requirements as well as systematic and documented improvement of environmental performance.

The environmental and energy policy becomes mandatory for company management and employees. We expect the same from our suppliers.

REACH

REACH (EC 1907/2006) is an EU regulation which aims to register, evaluate, permit and limit chemical substances. It has been in effect since 2007 and is supposed to guarantee a high level of protection for human health and the environment.

At the same time, it is intended to allow the free flow of chemicals throughout the European market and to promote competitiveness and innovation. REACH is based on the principle that manufacturers, importers and users take responsibility for their chemicals: They are required to handle the chemicals they produce and use safely.

The abbreviation “REACH” is derived from the English-language title of the regulation: Regulation concerning the Registration Evaluation Authorization and restriction of Chemicals. It is widely considered to be one of the strictest chemicals laws in the world. (German Federal Office of Environmental Protection)
